PVA Celebrates 20th AnniversaryPVA has reached a milestone as they celebrate their 20th Anniversary. In true entrepreneurial fashion, PVA opened for business January 2, 1992, in the basement of current President, Tony Hynes’, house. PVA soon moved to the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Incubator Center and expanded to include building XYZ robots to automate their growing valve technology. Over the 20 years, the company has outgrown 3 locations and swelled from 6 employees in 1993 to over 170 employees worldwide. Today, PVA’s Headquarters reside in a 105,000 sq. ft. building outside Albany, NY, with sales and service locations in Asia, Mexico, and Europe. Unique to PVA is that all manufacturing is still preformed at Headquarters in NY. To streamline their manufacturing process, ultimately providing customers a faster delivery of products with greater cost savings, PVA has also acquired and integrated a machine shop and sheet metal fabrication in the last two years. The activities and acquisitions of the last 20 years have uniquely positioned PVA for success. “Coming off our two most successful years in company history,” said Tony Hynes, President and CEO of PVA, “we will continue to look to the future by introducing new products, vertically integrating our manufacturing process and establishing additional regional sales and service centers in order to better support customers and fulfill our strategic initiatives.” One lesser-known facet is that besides being an industry leader, philanthropy is an important element for PVA, which supports Fast Break Fund (www.fastbreakfund.org). Founded in 1995 by Tony Hynes and his brother Larry, the non-profit provides underprivileged and children with special needs, scholarship assistance for sports camps, leagues, and fundamental skill instruction.
