Clean Knit Lines for FIP Gasket: PVA Pro Tip #8

PVA Pro Tip #8: Understanding Gasket Knit Lines

Seamlessly Sealed

Programming your PVA machine to create a form in place gasket can be quite simple. What isn’t always so easy is understanding how to create a clean net line with your sealant. The knit line is where the starting and end point of your bead meet to form a continuous gasket.

When teaching the end of your pattern, add a few millimeters to your program so the robot travels past the initial start location. Then within PathMaster, set your valve off parameter to a distance that equals the program overlap.

This will allow the robot to travel smoothly past your initial start point while dispensing valve turns off at the proper location resulting in a seamless knit line.
