Windows 10 EOL / Transition to Windows 11 Support

Microsoft has announced the End of Life (EOL) date for the consumer version of Windows 10 as October 14, 2025.

This EOL does not affect the embedded systems branch used in PVA’s production platforms.

Windows 10 Support

Our platforms utilize Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 (21H2), a branch specifically designed for embedded systems.

Mainstream Support: Ends January 2027

Extended Support: Ends January 2032

This version offers a stable 10-year lifecycle and granular update controls, essential for production environments.

Windows 11 Support

The embedded version, Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 (24H2), was released in October 2024.

Production images for all platforms have been completed, and testing is underway.

Full production builds are tentatively scheduled for release in Spring 2025 with more information to come.

Customers should not migrate to consumer versions of Windows 11 before the official production builds are available.

Recommendations for Customers

PVA strongly recommends all customers continue using Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021. This version remains fully supported and stable for production environments well beyond the consumer EOL date.
