High Viscosity Material Uses: Pro Tip #14
PVA Pro Tip #14: Enhancing Circuit Board Coating Using High Viscosity Materials
Mastering Precision Dispensing
High viscosity, non-flowable materials can be used to dispense a bead around keep out areas on circuit boards prior to coating. You can even go a step further and create a dam of several layers of stacked beads that build a larger barrier around an area to be encapsulated on a circuit board. The dense composition of the dam material will have enough body to hold its structure as other layers are placed on top.
Yet another approach, similar to 3D printing, takes a digital model and slices it into fine layers that get stacked. The Sigma benchtop dispenser configured with a simple RTV silicone valve can create custom gaskets, fixtures, masking boots, or virtually anything else you can model to enhance your manufacturing process.
