Conformal Coating and Encapsulation for Aerospace & Defense Electronics Manufacturing

Electronics used in the aerospace and defense industries can be exposed to some very extreme, and sometimes unknown, environments. Circuits and devices must operate when called upon and cannot allow small amounts of moisture, vibration, or foreign debris to hinder their operation.

To minimize failures and keep total mass low, many manufacturers rely on the use of conformal coatings and encapsulants. Conformal coatings provide a thin, lightweight barrier against outside elements whereas encapsulants can provide an increased level of protection against shock and vibration.
